Halifax Condo Update

Today I visited the Harbour Isle Condo Project in Dartmouth. I was very impressed with the proposed development. If you would like to discuss this project or purchase a unit you can call me 902-488-0012 or email andrew@halifaxrealestateguy.com.

Hi Steven,
Thanks for the question. I was told they will break ground when they have 60% sold. Right now the agent mentioned that 40% of the units have been sold. So who knows. I will keep you posted as more information becomes available. Thanks.

Hi,
Actually I wasn’t the one who posted that it was a 300 million dollar project. That was just a comment from a visitor to my site. It’s great to see that they have 60% sold. Where did you get this info?

Tks

Hi Andrew,

As a pervious investor with Sheppard Island (before it went under) I regret to inform you that most of the money deposit (without being in trust) with that company has disappeared….Therefore Harbour Isle is not fulfilling any previous deposits regardless of the amount put down on a condo……

I would recommend anyone in the market for a condo do their homework before investing with these big companies as I lost my entire life savings and hope to prevent anyone else from going through this loss.

Sincerely,

Taken by the original Sheppard Island

Hi There,
I am very sorry to hear about the loss. I agree with you that you need to do your homework before proceeding with a condo purchase. It is advisable to have your own agent represent you in these cases. When dealing with the developers representative, they ultimately have the best interests of the developer in mind and not you as the purchaser. On a side note, I have been trying to gather info on Harbour Isle and I am having a hard time finding anything about the progress of this development. Maybe this one has gone under as well.

Hi all,

We are very happy to read your comments. It is very disappointing that in this day and age there is very little protection for the consumer. Governments have to step in and legislate against this white collar crime. People’s livelihoods are being taken and no one accepts any responsibility. Is anyone protected even using their own real estate agent ? This game can potentially go indefinitely with the same developer putting up a sign claiming “new” at the same location over and over again. Great living for one while the rest lose everything. Where is the city in all of this. I have just registered to be contacted, however, now I am extremely thankful to “unknown” above for his entry in this situation.

Sincerely

Thanks for the comment. This is why I left the comment up. I have been trying to get a hold of someone at this development for quite some time with no response. Take a look at Kings Wharf in downtown Dartmouth. it is going to be a great project
