Moving To Halifax Nova Scotia
If you’re considering relocating to Halifax, then I’m thrilled you’ve landed on my site.
Whether you’re being posted to Halifax in the forces or at a civilian job, or want to retire here, or you just think this town might be the perfect place for your years to come, I think you’re on the right track.
If you’ve already committed to a Halifax move, then congratulations are in order!
A decade of living and working here makes me qualified to say this: It’s one great city. After time spent living in several North American towns, Halifax seemed like the perfect “home” for me, and I’m thrilled I made the move.
Today’s Halifax is a seaside city bustling with a diverse multicultural community, a healthy nightlife and a wide variety of entertainment, arts, and dining options, thanks to a thriving economy built on several solid industries.
Called a “university city” and nicknamed Canada’s University Capital, it’s easy to see why. As the home to six acclaimed universities, never mind all the colleges, Halifax is regarded as a national centre of learning, and is where you’ll find the Maritimes’ only medical school, at Dalhousie University.
Considered the eastern gateway to the rest of Canada, the beauty that surrounds the city is something locals take great pride in, but it’s not all they’re proud of. With a long, dedicated history of local military presence, Halifax is full of regional and national pride, and it shows.
If you’re planning on taking a house-hunting visit to this great city, I’d be happy to be your guide. If that’s not an option yet, I’m always able to do virtual/video walk-throughs of properties that meet your needs — a regular service I’m keen to offer those who’d like to relocate here.
Before your arrival, it helps to know what you’re moving into, so I’ve taken some time to find an assortment of helpful links for you. Let me know if you need any extra help or information, but here’s where to start:
